The subject are citation references from 2003 to 2006 of 26 psychological journals which published in Taiwan from "Academic Citation Index database" published by Airiti Inc. The study gathers relevant domestic and international indexes, and then selects appropriate measurement indicators designed to do analysis database. The study first adopts Pearson Product-moment Correlation to understand the performance of journal indexes, then the study uses cluster analysis to differentiate cluster membership and examines it’s correctness by discriminant analysis and its validity by one-way ANOVA, Duncan method. Furthermore, the study compares the performance of journal indexes from journal ranking by National Science Council by independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Duncan method. This study's findings are as follows: 1.The major international citation database is ISI Web of Science which includes Science Citation Index (SCI), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI). There are more and more institutions that provides new citation index database, now most of the index journals include citation statistics, emphasizing the importance of citation index usage. 2.The psychological journal evaluation are mostly by the opinion of the scholars, the information of journal and cited statistics. 3.Total cites, two year diachronous diffusion factor, cited-to-citing ratio, h-index, A-index, g-index are appropiate indexes to assessment Psychological journal published in Taiwan. 4.Psychological journals published in Taiwan can be divided into four groups by citation indexes. 5.The performance in indexes of levels of National Science Council psychological journal ranking are different in highly cited papers and h-index. The third level is better than the fourth level and other journals that not included in journal ranking in highly cited papers. The second level is better than the first level, and the third level is better than the first and the fourth level in h-index. 6.The frequency of publication dose not affect the performance in indexes. 7.The psychological journals selected by TSSCI or not are not the element to get good performance in citation indexes. TSSCI should select more psychological journals which get good performance in citation indexes. Based on the major findings, the study provides suggestion for reference of researchers, publishers, research institutions and further research. Wang Bao-Jinn 王保進 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 185 zh-TW
