Upon having met the students at class, the author found that behind the tension between the students and the teachers and the hostility of the students’ subculture group there was something hard to deal with – it was exactly the disturbance throughout the entire class built for a long run. What is more is that the students demonstrated major problems and difficulties in both academic and behavioral performance. For answering the desperate needs of addressing the teaching problems, the author tried to explore into it with an action research. This research adopted criticism-based reasoning and Freire’s theory, starting with a teacher’s self-reflection and then joining the action research on students’ changes. First off, the author explored the teachers’ self-awareness, next analyzed the causes of the students’ problems, then found commonly shared characteristics among them: mostly being in minority groups, affected by complicated family composition, low in socio-economic status, lack of self confidence due to hardship such as poverty, no motivation for learning, and poor interaction with peers and environment, all these in turn led to far less than enough self-awareness. The author divided the content of self-awareness into three components: self-concept, the action promoting self-awareness, and social network; and explored the theme in three aspects – psychology, sociology and literacy; hoping to create a classroom atmosphere full of respect and equality through implementing the learning strategies that: encourage reading and interactive dialogs and giving students autonomy right, so as to allow the students to adapt to the heterogeneous groups in collaborative learning for promoting the social interactive relationship; encourage students to express themselves and to start dialogs, to relate storytelling to their self-experiences and to voice for themselves; also to enhance literacy with the learning sheets and reading activity. So the children can promote their action capability on the basis of self-awareness with the self-concept in the aspects of psychology, sociology and Literacy. Besides, all other capabilities such as social network can also be increased hence the children’s self-awareness as a whole can be promoted. At last, the author has fostered the competence of action research and achieved something in teaching thanks to the growth of the subjects in this research. From the overall conditions of the graduates from the school, the author find that there is still room in some areas for progress and improvement, and the author hopes to keep reminding teacher’s awakening and to deliver the instructions from the students’ view whenever possible. 簡良平 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 150 zh-TW |

碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 課程與教學研究所碩士班 === 97 === The class in this research having major problems of ignoring the rules, demanded a new homeroom teacher as substitute and thus became a so called “A Step-Mother’s Class” as the author took the vacancy.
