Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 產業經濟學系碩士班 === 97 === In this article, we use Taiwan manufacturing industries’ Census data to examine whether Taiwan is undertaking Managed economy and Entrepreneurial economy two sectors, and understand the determinants of industries’ performance. The data conducted by the Statistics Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2001. We use OLS model as an econometric model and compare the results in two sectors by marginal effects. Under the SCP framework, we use PCM(Price-cost Margins) as a measurement of performance, besides , we use average firm size、age、concentration index(HHI)、minimum efficient scale(MES)、capital and technology intensity(KS、KL)、international linkage(Tx、Tm)、and some innovation indices(R&D、AD、WAGE、EC) to examine the problems of industries’ performance. First, we find average size square、age、import intensity、R&D intensity have a negative effect on PCM, and KS、AD、EC have a positive effect on PCM. Second, we use Chow test and T test to examine the two sectors on entrepreneurial economy and managed economy , there is a significant difference. Finally, in our 2001 data shows Taiwan is entering entrepreneurial economy, and there is a difference between entrepreneurial economy and managed economy.
