Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 建築與都市設計研究所 === 97 === The stonemason Mu-Cheng Chang was born in Wui-An county of Fu-Jian province in 1905. He inherited the family career and came to Taiwan accompanied his father stonemason Huo-Guang Chang in 1932. Then he settled down to work in Taipei. His carving works are popular spread all over the northern Taiwan. The representative works include the Tsu-shih Temple in Tam-sui (1937), Lung-shan Temple in Man-kah (1955) and Xai-Tai-san Yan (Mountain Temple, 1976). This research aims to show some practical method in the analysis on the topic of image form and text of stone carving. And try to conclude the main characters of the carving work of Mu-Cheng Chang.
