Cancer cells are sensitive to heat. As temperature rise to 43~46℃, the heat treatment will cause cancer cells death. When magnetic nanoparticles is placed around cancar cells at an AC magnetic field, hysteresis loss will make temperature rise to 43℃ then kill cancer cells. The method is called magnetic hyperthermia. Calcium phosphate ( CaP ) is main mineral of bone and teeth, which is non-toxic, biocompatibility and biodegradable. In this study, the Fe2+ is doped into calcium phosphate to substitute Ca2+. Iron calcium phosphate ( calcium phosphate doped iron Fe( II ) ) can release heat in alternating magnetic field because it has magnetism. In the preparation process, gelatin is added because it has a lot of functional groups. In this study, iron calcium phosphate-gelatin nanoparticles is prepared by reverse micelle, using three phases system: n-hexane, AOT, water, and temperature is set at 25℃ while pH is set at weak acid around 5. CaP-Fe/gelatin nanoparticles is placed at an AC magnetic field, the heat is liberated due to hysteresis loss.
