First, prepared a mixed solution of 10 ml of 0.6 M Co(CH3COO)2•4H2O and 0.36 g urea. The mixture was treated with 400 W microwave irradiation for 6min to obtain the rod-like precursor. Then, the precursor was calcined at 800 ℃ for 4 hours to get the pure cobaltic oxide(Co3O4) powder. The product was characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD)、scanning electron microscopy(SEM)、dynamic light scattering(DLS)、atomic absorption spectrometer(AA). The results confirmed that a high purity spherical Co3O4 crystal had been prepared by the calcination at 800 ℃, and the diameter of spherical Co3O4 crystal is about 300 nm.
