The higher capacity utilization of machine before build Semiconductor fab, because the semiconductor industry’s life cycle is short, and market risk is high. But if we want to obtain the higher capacity utilization, we should use more bigger size of wafer. It need huge investment to increase the size of wafer, and it’s not to conform with economical benefit. At that time, the layout of wafer fab plant and transfer system is play an important role.
This paper applied Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithm to solve the mixed layout of Spine Configuration and Perimeter Configuration, we could improve our solution step by step through PSO algorithm. And use different combination of parameters to find the better solution on semiconductor fab’s layout problem.
