Summary: | 碩士 === 東海大學 === 美術學系 === 97 === The government of Taiwan launched the National Digital Archives Program (NDAP) with three objectives: (1) Cultural Preservation, (2) Research, (3) Education and Learning. However, similar studies have found that present Digital Archives promote the first two objectives while neglecting the third, making it difficult for the teachers to access the teaching content directly. Although alternative programs such as the "Design Competition for Digital Archive Incorporation into compulsory education" were launched, this inevitably brought to bear the lack of teaching or learning resources in instructional activities.
Bates (1995) suggests "Teamwork is important. Subject matter experts (Researchers), instructional designers (Teachers), and media specialists (Programers) are essential for develop and deliver a distance learning course on every team." This subject of this case study is "A platform of Digital Archives resource database support teaching and learning. — Ming-Dao junior high school teaching art appreciation of "Taiwan's architectural heritage"" The following key elements are proposed. (1) An e-learning platform which is simple, organized and in accordance with the needs of teachers teaching. This platform can also serve as a reference model for the development of the technical aspects of NDAP while resolving the chronic issue of the teachers’ lack of proficiency in harnessing information technology. (2) Through the collaboration of researchers and teachers, the compilation of the Digital Archives resource database will serve Research, Education and Learning well. Teachers benefit through the use of the internet as teaching materials in the classroom, while students benefit through the ability to review the digital material after school.
To analyze the teachers’ needs, I will reference the web site "The Learning Page... especially for teachers" (http://rs6.loc.gov/learn/) as well as combining the curriculum management system and the characteristics of Web 2.0 to draw up a platform for a Digital Archives resource database which will collaborates with Researchers, teachers and programmers. This will assist teachers in teaching and e-learning development. The results demonstrated that this is an ideal platform and that the realization of such platform is just around the corner.
