However, most of the creators control the shaping outcome by cumulated experiences which cause unexpected shapes of the creation. It increases the time spending and the numbers of try and error. Therefore, the study aims at understanding hot work making method of fusing glass and its basic shaping variation. Due to the limitation of apparatus, the temperature of the kiln firing is between 770℃to 850℃, and the soak time is 0~15 minutes. After fusing two pieces of 30×30mm flat glasses in the experiment, this study measures crucial dimensions of the finished samples and observes the shapes. The result shows that when the temperature of the kiln firing is higher, the elongation and the edge angle will increase, the contour line and the edge line will be rounder, and the fusing phenomena between pieces is more obvious. Thirty six sample edge angle parameters and experiment sample pictures become the consulting data of the temperature and soak time. Randomly chooses 3 kinds of temperatures and soaking time for rudimentary creations. After that, we applies the data into the creating techniques of piece together, piece piling, piece in between, and piece hollow out, etc. then observes the design variation. The research provides the obvious data to handle the shape of kiln firing glass. For further study, we suggest to extend the ranges of temperature and soak time in experiment and try different shapes and thickness of materials to know more application possibilities.
