碩士 === 東海大學 === 工業設計學系 === 97 === The equipments of security are the protection for human beings. Although there are a lot of equipments of security in our life, people still have many fear factors. After researching into the causes of fear, it can be divided in two parts for influencing the sense of security, the outer environment and inner personality. From observation, looking for the behavior that people will do when they lose courage and sense of security, digesting most of the important points and transfer it into design. By implementing the product designs based on sense of security, we expect to provide something for people to keep sense of security in life. I start to “improve the quality of sense of security at home” as the main design purpose. In design, there are three themes and included seven products, keep secret (Side table, Shelf 1, Shelf 2), reduce the fear of insect (Catch 1, Catch 2), reduce the fear of dark (Pee Pee Light, Good Sleeping). By observing interactions between visitors and products, most visitors with stronger responses have the same personality and experience of life with the designer (author). After rethinking the values and meanings of this design research, it can be said that these are all designed based on “building safe walls”, and it is the key to reduce the fears and keep the sense of security.
