Summary: | 碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 資訊工程學系碩士班 === 97 === Vehicle navigation and tracking system is a topic of great interest today. Most of the commercial tracking system use a standard service that shows the vehicles location to the driver and provide navigation information to a specified location. But, it’s very difficult to find a low cost and open source position tracking system that provides services like in the commercial products. The objective of this research was to develop a prototype for an emergency position tracking system-using Gmaps and also to provide a powerful and low cost the open source emergency position system. Based on the current observation, most of vehicle tracking system are a commercial product. They are catered to consumer satisfaction and not specific to public emergency tracking service. Only some of the tracking system company such as; OnStar System from General Motors Corporation has a cooperation with the government Emergency line i.e. 911, but they only give this facility to their clients, not to all of the people in that country. We propose to create a tracking system with the low cost, increase efficiency and useful in rescue area i.e. traffic accident, first rescue on health issues etc. To realize the propose, this system using Gmaps from Google as a map system, PHP & MySQL as server scripting and database engine, J2ME as mobile scripting, and smartphone with A-GPS and basic cellphone as position tracking units. The goal of this research was to design a low cost open-source medical emergency position tracking system. The results of this research could be used as low cost position tracking system in the government office or non-government office.
