This study used both qualitative and quantitative methods to conduct the research. The subjects of this study were enrolled students of Haulien Physical Experimental Education Senior High School (HPEESHS) in the year of 2007. The results of this study are presented below: 1.The subjects’ adjustments towards high school learning were satisfactory. Their main concern towards learning was to pass all subjects. Factors that affected the subjects’ adjustments were the teacher’s teaching attitudes, absence from classes due to intensive training sessions, and insufficient time for study. 2.The subjects’ adjustments towards athletics training were satisfactory. They considered training to be tiring, but in the end it was worthwhile. Factors that affected the subjects’ adjustments included the quality of the physical education, sports injuries, and plateau phenomenon. 3.The subjects’ adjustments towards interpersonal relationships were above average. They were able to make numerous friends from school. Factors that affected the subjects’ adjustments were the interactions amongst classmates, and the way the teacher disciplines students. 4.The subjects’ adjustments towards dormitory life were less than satisfactory. They thought the dormitory environment was unacceptable, but meanwhile there was a sense of home atmosphere in the dormitory. Factors that affected the subjects’ adjustments were the living environment, and the relationships with their peers. It is believed that the findings from this study would assist future students at HPEESHS in more effectively adapting to high school life, in performing better at school and their sports specialization, as well as in developing superior interpersonal skills. This study also makes practical contributions to high school administrators and educators alike in terms of curriculum design, selection of teaching staff, and design of the education system. In order to further understand factors affecting adjustments of Taiwanese athletic students, it is suggested that future researchers examine factors related to adjustments of athletic students in other types of schools or in schools specialised in other areas. Lastly, it may be worthwhile to put in more variables into future research and to uncover the importance of the variables. Yun-chi Ho 何 縕 琪 學位論文 ; thesis 151 zh-TW |

碩士 === 慈濟大學 === 教育研究所 === 97 === Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore students’ experiences in adjusting to school life and the factors that affect their adjustments in the context of high schools specialized in physical education. This study used both qualitative and quantitative methods to conduct the research. The subjects of this study were enrolled students of Haulien Physical Experimental Education Senior High School (HPEESHS) in the year of 2007. The results of this study are presented below:
1.The subjects’ adjustments towards high school learning were satisfactory.
