First of all, the ECG biomedical signal is sensed and processed by the ECG electrode sensor and its circuit respectively. Next, based on ZigBee wireless protocol, the processed ECG biomedical signal is transmitted to remote ZigBee access node. Finally, the ECG signal received by the remote node is plotted and shown on computer screen with the LabVIEW software system. We adopt the integrate chipset of CC2430 which integrates wireless front end module and 8051 microcontroller as the system hardware architecture. The system wireless carrier operating frequency is regulated at 2.4 GHz. Varieties of ECG signals from different persons are measured and shown clearly by the portable wireless biomedical transmission system. Even in indoor room environment blocked with obstacles, the transmissive range of 20 m is reachable. The system not only has the advantage of portable size but also support battery energy.
