It’s more than 1,600 kilometers from north stretch to the south. It is only 500 kilometers from Taiwan, has its advantages of geographical location. More importantly, Vietnamese people are friendly with the Chinese people, work hard, but with low wages (VND 900,000 per month = NT$ 1,800). Employers do not have to provide employees accommodations (Mainland China need to provide food and accommodations, on the contrary), Vietnam is a country with abundant labor force, and its customs and culture both are very similar to Taiwan’s. Vietnam and Taiwan already signed investment protection agreements, and avoidance of double taxation agreement. Taiwan businessmen's investments in Vietnam can get protected adequately. United States: Vietnam and the United States have signed bilateral trade agreements in 2001, the average tariff from 40% to 3%. Vietnamese products can be entitled to preferential rates to enter the U.S. market. Association of Southeast Asian Nations: the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) embark on a comprehensive liberalization of investment in Vietnam in 2002.As long as you set up factories in Vietnam, the products will be able to enter the ASEAN region's major markets easily. EU: Vietnam is one of the EU countries. It takes for granted can get EU GSP preferential tariffs and quotas. Vietnamese businessmen tailored for the appropriate services to provide a barrier-free investment environment for Taiwan businessmen.
