The energy conversion system aims to convert the unstable DC electricity produced by photovoltaic cells and wind generators into the stable DC and AC electricity output. The system adopts a maximum power point tracking technique in order to increase photovoltaic generation and to improve the wrong adjustment under rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. An 8-bit microprocessor PIC16F4520 is used as the controller to control the maximum power point tracking within a buck-boost converter. Then, a battery charger is designed to convert the DC output of buck-boost converter into the stable DC electricity in order to store energy in a battery and to supply the DC loads. Subsequently, the low voltage DC electricity is converted into the high voltage DC electricity by a push-pull converter. Then, a full bridge inverter is designed to convert the high voltage DC electricity into the 110V/60Hz AC electricity to supply the AC loads.
