Summary: | 碩士 === 世新大學 === 資訊傳播學研究所(含碩專班) === 97 === The industries confronting highly competitive stress not only pay attention to the inner development, but discover the industrial environment and activities of competitors. And therefore they began to concerned about the competitive intelligence. The study aimed to explore the status, the cognitive of competitive intelligence, the practice of the library and information service industry.
Conclusions of this case study; We find that: (1) The market of library and information service industry is small and competitive, and the enterprise needs competitive intelligence to improve its business competitiveness; (2) The case company thinks that the competitive intelligence need to be judged by experts; (3) The case company is the leader of the field. Its major competitors come from abroad, so it focus on the collection of competitive intelligence overseas; (4) The superintendents of the competitive intelligence department play roles of reference librarians and facilitators, so it is effective in setting up the competitive intelligence units, and including competitive intelligence into the training courses; (5) The case company rapidly gets the newest information and knowledge abroad ,and approaches the knowledge and technology with foreign countries through setting up a competitive intelligence units; (6) The case company manages the competitive intelligence information mainly through humanistic management, and concern about the information flow, information sharing and prevention of the information leakage at the same time; (7) The competitive intelligence management system of the case company is not fully open. It protects the information security through privilege management; (8) The case company is a knowledge-based industries, and thinks that it is suitable to develop the competitive intelligence information services; (9) The case company trains its employees to be more moral standard, and requires them to obey the occupational moral. Finally, the researcher discussed the implication of the result and recommendations of subsequent research.
