Research on Domestic Travel Dialysis Patients Motives and Constraints

碩士 === 世新大學 === 觀光學研究所(含碩專班) === 97 === For the rise of current trends in leisure consciousness and the modern change of social state, more and more citizens may arrange tourism activities in their leisure time. The purpose is to release and refresh their bodies and mind. However, for dialysis patients, kidney wash may influence those patients’ daily lives. The researchers study whether kidney wash affects those patients’ willingness to participate in domestic tourism activities. To dialysis patients, are there any other tourism barriers? This research focuses on the tourism motivation and obstacles for dialysis patients to participate in domestic tourism activities. The research methods mainly take quantity methods. The methodology stages are supported with quality methods. In this study, those samples are chosen from the specific research area, dialysis centers located in Taipei City and Taipei County. Twenty-eight dialysis patients and two travel agents are selected in the research analysis. The result of the analysis is analyzed as below: 1、Dialysis patients have remarkable differences on their backgrounds when they encounter tourism motivations and barriers. 2、Dialysis patients mainly have ten motive factors in the tourism. They tend to see the scenery, accompany their family, visit ancestors’ hometown, relax and release their mental, religious and spiritual feelings, experience custom sentiment, taste delicious food, go shopping, exercise, pursue for physical maintenance and so on. 3、Those main tourism barriers are segmented to nine types. Those types are derived from the economic factor, the climatic factor, too busy work, high risk, unsuitable schedule, weak physical strength, fear to affect others, not availability to accompany with their family, no friends with fee time to accompany them and so on. Among those types, the constitutive barrier is the highest. 4、In this study, the researchers suggest that when the government officers work on the overall plan for the scenery area, they should improve non-barrier facility space. In addition to the sign of the scenic area, the indication, index and the traveling website information, the government should aim at passenger's demands to attract patients’ willingness to travel.
