With developments on women’s rights and industry transformation over the past years, the topic we studied is increasingly more important. As a result, the Human Capital Theory and Labor Market Discrimination Theory were chosen as the domains of the literature review from which changes in gender wage differentials would be explored. Furthermore, Mincer’s and Oaxaca’s equations were chosen to explore to what degree these different variables would influence wages and how discriminations would affect gender wages, respectively. 2005 Taiwan Manpower Utilization Survey was used as the samples in this research. The findings of the research are as follows: 1. The number of years of education women received has a more significant impact on their wages. 2. Technology intensive industries have negative influences on women’s wages. 3. The highest average of wages is in Northern Taiwan; the most of gender wage differential is in Southern Taiwan. 4. There are still discriminations in intensive technology industries in Taiwan. The above result shows that in the industries with intensive technology, education level and work experience are helpful to reduce the salary disparity between men and women. But the salary discrimination between men and women still exists. Yi-Hsiue Wang 王怡修 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 55 zh-TW
