Summary:碩士 === 世新大學 === 新聞學研究所(含碩專班) === 97 ===   This research aims to give records about the history of NIE (Newspaper in Education) program and observe how teacher practices NIE in the field of education.   In order to understand how "Mandarin Daily News" implemented the NIE in Taiwan, researcher interviewed with newspaper and elementary students, and participated the elementary course in person. Combining theory and practical approach, researcher explored the impact of NIE program in Taiwan.   The study found that NIE in Taiwan emphasis on upgrading the reading ability and using as a material. It can cultivate the Extra-Curricular reading habits and language ability to the elementary school students. In American, NIE program can combine with political and legal action; teach the concept of citizen consumer, to educate media literacy and critical thinking. Comparing with American experience, the implement was more limited in Taiwan. The research tries to provide suggestions for NIE program, media literacy and contribute to Children cognitive development.
