There are significant impacts of interpersonal influences and media influences can predict the level of appearance evaluation and appearance orientation. Specifically, higher interpersonal influences would have higher appearance orientation; while those with higher media influences will have lower appearance evaluation and higher appearance orientation. The mediating effect of appearance evaluation and appearance orientation is confirmed. 3. Self-esteem moderate the impact of both interpersonal influences and media influences on body image. 4. Age moderate the impact of both interpersonal influences and media influences on body image. 5. Occupation moderates the impact of body image on motives for cosmetic surgery. Finally, some practical recommendations for females interested in cosmetic surgery and cosmetic clinics were proposed.
