It is hard for consumers to choose a pair of sport sunglasses that is suitable for them because there are few related products available on the domestic market. Being a new developing and small scale market, Taiwan lacks data in this field. So I got to know the relationship between the product types and the material layouts in different times through the information of the foreign market’s competitive brands, applying them to the procedures of methodology and setting up the basic model of different types. Then questionnaires about the layouts of the materials in main parts of the sunglasses are made by Taguchi Methods to see the differences among various matches. After this experiment, I conclude that there are three types: professional, leisure and outstanding sports sunglasses. Men differ greatly from women in the professional one. Men enjoying outdoor activities like the sunglasses made of several kinds of materials on the bridge; however women only pay attention to the material in the rear part of the temple and show the interest in no more than two elements layout. Furthermore, I find out the design rules of the popular sport sunglasses through the analysis of the parameters of the former three types by Grey Relational Method. These rules are valuable references both for designers and decision makers.
