We use methyl 4-bromocrotonate as the outset and p-methoxyphenol underwent condensation under the basic condition to give (E)-methyl-4 -(4-methoxyphenoxy)but-2-enoate 3. Using DIBAL-H as catalyst under a nitrogen atmosphere, obtain (E)-4-(4-methoxyphenoxy) but-2-en-1-ol 4, bromination of compound 4, and give [(E)-(4′-Bromo-2′-buten yoxy]-4-methoxybenzene 5, use product of n-butyllithium and 1-dodecyne to couple with compound 5, and obtain compound 6. AD-mix-β react to double bond of compound 6, and obtain (2R,3R)-1-(4-methoxyphenoxy) hexadec-5-yne-2,3-diol 8. Finally we use Conway’s dish measure the power of absorbed moisture on the air of compound 8, at different temperature (25、30 and 35 oC) and saturated solution of salts (NaCl, K2CO3) and pure water.
