In order to keep update with the trends and consolidate the leadership among brand customers, how to meet and constantly promote the customers’ satisfaction rate has become a key factor for the shoes manufacture company that we discuss in this research. In particular, demands from customers and shop floor supervisors for real-time production information during the producing process have been increasing in recent years, which makes the Shop Floor Information System play a very vital role. This research focuses on the way that the large company mentioned below has been explored, taking the shoes manufacturing process as an example and applying to the improved methods of Lean Production to launch on the study of Shop Floor Information System (SFIS). According to Lean Thinking, taking customers’ demands as the starting point, it uses Value Stream Mapping to analyze activities and to create values for the company so as to completely eliminate unnecessary waste. The five stages of Lean Production: Stability, Continuous Flow, Standardized Work, Pull Production and Level Production, are adopted for continuous improvement, and targets of which are integrated into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to improve the issue that the system couldn’t provide real-time information. In such a way the shop floor monitoring mechanism is established, under which production is real-time and transparent. This mechanism helps to effectively master the production status (the investment, output and any exception, and so forth) of each production line, and assist the management team to make correct management decision. Additionally, this company’s experience in building and exploring the Shop Floor Information System can be provided for shoes manufacture industry or relevant companies for reference.
