However, students need to spend much time on searching and choosing appropriate materials for achieving their learning objectives. That results in more depression and inefficiencies for learners. Besides, there are a large number of meaningless or even harmful messages on the Web, which likely to deviate the learning activities of students. The unorganized instructional materials spread over the Web could not efficiently serve as learning resources. Consequently, it is very important to efficiently locate proper materials for a learner from a vast amount of online learning resources. This work used the RSS to build up a system for distributing learning materials to students. The RSS could aggregate instructional materials from multiple sources and displayed them in concise way. As a result, students can locate required pedagogical sources more efficiently. In addition, the RSS can reduce the time wasted on reading irrelevant information. Besides the prototype, this research explored the impact of the RSS on students’ learning performance through a quasi-experimental design. The findings include: 1. the way of reading instructional materials with the RSS approach are significantly better than that with the non-RSS learning platform. 2. The interface on the RSS learning platform is significantly better than that on the non-RSS learning platform. 3. There is no significant difference between the self-confidence of the students in the two different groups. 4. There is not significant difference between the learning attitudes of the students in the two different groups. 5. The learning performance of the students on the RSS learning platform is significantly better than that of the students on the non-RSS learning platform.
