Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 生活應用科學研究所 === 97 === This study aims to investigate the results of the faculty physical checkups and the related factors in a private vocational college in the northern Taiwan. It also analyzes BMI, blood biochemical examination, physical fitness and living habits, in order to provide suggestions and references to health promotion programs. In this study, data were collected by measurement and questionnaires. Participants were the faculty of a private vocational college. The number of valid samples is 240. The statistical tool used here is SPSS 14.0. The results in this study are as follows:First, Vocational College J has a low physical checkup rate in its faculty: 56.6%, which combined with physical fitness testing would be even lowered down to 24%. Physical checkups and physical fitness testing are both free for the staff,; however, the checkup rate is quite low. The reasons need further explored in the future.Secondly, according to the result of the faculty checkups, the rate of abnormalities shows high. These abnormal phenomena include the abnormally high rate in BMI, blood test result, the liver triglyceride oil, cholesterol test, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.Thirdly, 22.5 % of physical fitness test results are with poor muscular endurance; 37.2% with poor flexibility; 28.4 % with poor heart and lung function and all of these conditions need to be concerned.Fourthly, there is a lower rate of exercise habits in the faculty. 78.4% of the faculty exercise less than three days a week which is higher than the 61.3 % from the result of the Department of Health. Only 18.6% have the habits of eating five fruits and vegetables every day, which is lower than the national rate of 20.7%. The faculty needs to develop their 333 exercise habits and eating habits with five fruits and vegetables every day. Finally, the results of health checkup, physical fitness test, and living habits are influenced by the gender, age, marriage status, and job titles of the participants. However, being an executive is not a significant factor. Based on the results of this study, some suggestions are provided as follows: (1) the school authorities should probe into the reasons of low faculty checkup rate and take some measurements to copy with the problem. (2) The school authorities should regularly hold activities for the faculty to improve their health and also remind them of their own personal health. (3) The school authorities should encourage the faculty to participate in various health-improving activities with the concept of health self-management
