Besides, the research indicates the process of story plots. The findings are as follows: 1. The counselor concludes that there are four themes of friendship in picture story books: ”The Problem and Conflicts among Friends”, “The Functions of Friends”, “The Interactions among Friends” and “Respecting Individual Differences in Friends”. 2. Kindergarten children can interpret the specific concepts of friendship in picture books, but they can’t interpret the abstract concepts of friendship in picture books. 3. Elementary school students can not only interpret the specific concepts, but also roughly interpret the abstract concepts of friendship in picture books. 4. The picture books are composed of metaphors and there are three stages of process of plots in picture books including “Establishment of the Story Background”, ”Emergence and Settlement of the Conflicts” or ”Main Character’s Self- Awareness and Insight”, and “Perfect Ending”.
