Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立聯合大學 === 化學工程學系碩士班 === 97 === High surface area activated carbons were prepared from Acacia Confusa by CO2 activation and H3PO4 activation. The obtained CO2-activated carbon and H3PO4-activated carbon series had specific surface areas, respectively; 469 to 907 m2/g, and 1,251 to 1629 m2/g. Chemical properties include chemical composition and surface chemistry measured by the methods of element analysis and temperature- programmed desoption (TPD). H3PO4-activated carbon series had more C composition and surface oxygen function group then CO2-activated carbon. The adsorption kinetics and equilibrium isotherms of dye (methylene blue) and phenols (phenol, 4-chlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol) from water at 30℃ on the activated carbons were studied. Two simplified models including the Elovich equation and intraparticle diffusion model were used to test the adsorption kinetic; it was suitably described by the Elovich equation. Two simplified models including the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equation were selected to follow the adsorption process; the adsorption equilibrium isotherm was in agreement with the Langmuir equation. This study proved that H3PO4-activated carbon prepared in this work have good adsorption capability.
