China initiated Culture Revolution gave a significant influence on art works which is a “sensational event” in Chinese history. The art of Beijing opera has been preserved conditionally as the name of RMO in the rebellion to destroy Chinese traditional arts, although RMO had been widely divergent from original Beijing opera. Placing into development of Beijing operas history, RMO incontrovertibly had post a valuable position in Chinese opera and lasted for a decade. Whereas the time of the end of Qingn dynasty and in the early Republic of China, related issues of Beijing opera revolution has draw people attention. With stimuli of domestic trouble and foreign invasion, Beijing opera was rendered to a momentous reforming mission to educate people. In new China government established, Chinese Communist Party Government devotes to carry out the related events of reforming opera, consolidating country’s art property for the sake of strengthen hard-earned political power which resulted in breaking out Culture Revolution. The birth of RMO testified the background of state apparatus intervened performing art, the performing style manifested internal and external cultures and the collision of performing arts, especially as the aspect of image and character subverted the former Beijing opera presentation style. Consequently, the dissertation probes into development of Beijing opera and investigates RMO’s character performing style to make preliminary appreciation of the art value of RMO.
