The major thought of the author is what are the characteristics of “multiplication” and “mutation”? What meanings do they each have? What’s the relationship between the creator and them? The content starts the discussion from the work. First, the author tries to explain the meaning of “sketch” and “linear” in the author’s creation. “Multiplication” and “mutation” both have been specified by the “sketch” concept, and the specific process is a kind of “translation”. In addition, it also processes the works of the author in the University period to multiplication, and mutation period to set up the overall impression of the works. Then, the author tries to distinguish the difference between machinery replication and manual replication, and expand the meaning of “multiplication” through the concept of “replication”. “Multiplication” is used as an insistence of a work’s uniqueness, and the resistance created by a large amount of machinery replication production. After, through reviewing personal experience, the author tries to look for the source of the mutation image from the past memories, and clarify the relationship between “mutation” and individuals through the “archetype” concept of Carl G. Jung. “Mutation” is the individual appearance of “archetype”, the emergence of the form is a kind of “brain evolution” process. However, the focus of the author starts to transfer from “visual performance” to the “meaning” itself. The change of the focus has weakened the “multiplication” characteristic of the work and strengthened the “mutation” of the work, thus allowing “mutation” to gradually become the work’s main theme. Through this change, three works have been created, and the works at the same time also show that the possible development dimension of the author in future sculpture creation.
