While getting along with schoolmates, conflict is evolved from friction because of different opinions, which teen novels continuously grope and develop on. This research takes seventeen texts concerning campus conflicts as samples, including The Eighteenth Emergency, Frindle, The Report, etc. to go into how children’s literature deals with teenagers’ frustrated and anxious sentiments caused from the conflicts, afterwards leads teenagers to fit themselves to growing journey. This research analyzes the texts to look into teenager s’ growing journey based on Joseph Campell’s “hero’s journey”, and find out the protagonists’ characters based on Carol S. Pearson’s “the heros-within archetype” . The study discovers that conflict issues in campus novels have three types, and they are same generation in opposing, teacher-student in opposition, and teacher-student in conversation. The first two stages emphasize teenagers’ build up their self values and adjust their relationships with people around. The third stage highlights school systems expand new subjects of debate. The conflicts frequently originate from doubts in young adults’ self values, so adults become the vital role when they are having adjustment of themselves. As a result, the research reaffirms the importance of family; not only conveys love can actually help young people beat the difficulties in their growing, but also extends this idea to adult readers.
