Moreover, Gou-May meticulously incorporated the shifting of the solar terms as well as the relevant folklore customs into the thrilling adventures. The tetralogy also fuses different elements from children’s literature, classics, and folklore literature together, which leads to wider possibilities for further discussion and research. The content of my research includes delving into the plots of the magic by chart- analysis, examining the methods of modern novel writing by discussing the form of chaptered novels, and noting how solar terms are blended into the context by content-analysis. I would like to assert the value of the tetralogy by looking into its content and style in detail. In a way, “The Magic Lock Tetralogy” can be viewed as an unprecedented literary task ever undertaken in Taiwan. This children’s literature is full of our ancestral wisdom and customs, also combined with nature and literature, sense and sensibility. The goal of my research is to justify its significance and locates its position in children’s literature in Taiwan. Lin Win Pao 林文寶 學位論文 ; thesis 215 zh-TW
