It is to understand the reason why parents participates the guide-reading volunteer group and how to design the cultivation program systematically. And then provide research result and suggestion after find out the obstruction while running the guide-reading volunteer group and the administrative support. This research object, the guide-reading volunteer group of Taipei Yong-Le elementary school used was studied by “educational action research”. The conclusions are described as below: 1. The reasons parents participate guide-reading volunteer group are: (1) Fundamental reason: specific member enlist during the beginning period, routine group member call up from school, the call up while parents symposium, and the parent who is already the guide-reading volunteer group invite the other parents. (2) Sustained reason: the school emphasis on reading, student’s feedback, personal grown up and then established the security and reliability emotion to the group, the positive effect to the family. 2. A systematically cultivation program must contain following points: (1) First guide-reading skill and then expand the background knowledge. (2) The content and the teachers should have more diversity. (3) Proper use the senior group member as teacher. (4) Use the teachers in the school who have special expert as the tutor of cultivation program. (5) Communication between the relative groups. 3. The resistance of running the process of the guide-reading volunteer group mainly comes from four aspects. (1) School: the mis-coopration between administrative staff and teachers, worse reaction from students (2) Family: Since spent too much time on prepare the guide-reading materials, the group member is opposed to other family member by taking less time to their own family. (3) Group members: the members execute mission without a good atmosphere or lack of common consensus in each other. (4) Personal: the concern if self capability, the inadmissible time and the shorthanded concerned form the group leader. 4. The administrative supports to evaluate the efficiency of the guide-reading includes (1) To design the cultivation program systematically (2) Establish the feedback system (3) enrich the manpower and the material resources (4) Coordinate and enhance both the inside and outside contact network. Finally, based on above research conclusion, the researcher would provide the related suggestions to the schools that want to set up a guide-reading volunteer group or the future researchers.
