Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 社會科教育學系碩士班 === 98 === The purpose of the study was to investigate the textbook selection consideration and satisfaction of elementary school teachers in Social Science Learning Area in Taipei county, and to offer feasible suggestions according to the results.
Subjects of the study were elementary school teachers teaching social studies education in Taipei county. A self developed questionnaire was conveyed to gather data.700 questionnaires were distributed and 509 were valid responded orresponding with a 72.71 of return rate. Item analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, descriptive statistics,t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé method and Pearson Correlation Coefficient were managed for data analysis by means of SPSS 11.5 for Windows package software.
The findings of the study included:
1. The consideration of the social studies textbook selection was identified by teachers in generality.
2. The teachers who graduated from traditional Normal Educational system reach the agreement-“The standard of the selection should be taken more considerations”.
3. The teachers who aged under 30 years old reach the agreement-“The process and standard of the selection have lower influence”.
4. The teachers who have more than 20 years teaching experiences reach the agreement-“The complement process and standard of the selection should be taken more considerations”.
5. The teachers who’s current position is in administration of the school reach the agreement-“The complement and process of the selection should be taken more considerations”.
6. The high usage satisfaction of the social studies textbook was identified by teachers in generality.
7. The teachers who have more than 20 years teaching experiences,graduated from traditional Normal Educational system have highscores at the items about the textbook’s Physical-Related Attributes.
8. There was a significant relationship between textbook selection consideration and
edition satisfaction.
According to the result above, the researcher provided some issues about social science learning area textbook selection and usage in the social studies domain in Night-Year-Integrated Curriculum Guideline. The researcher also provided the direction and suggestion for future works.
