Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 美術產業碩士學位在職進修專班 === 97 === Eastern Taiwan has the cultural background of ethnic diversity and the environmental advantages, which is the region most suitable for developing natural and cultural tourism industries. How to enhance the industrial features of local culture is an important issue. In this study, Tapa (bark cloth), the indigenous people’s most characteristic cultural asset, has been passed on, to share the intellectual legacy inherited from ancestors. Through the process of creation and exploration, the new opportunity of Tapa culture industry has been extended. In this thesis, the records have been made through the methods of literature review, field study and practical operation. The chapters have been arranged as follows: Chapter 1, Introduction, in which the origination of the technique and the research motivation have been explained; Chapter 2, Knowledge of the Materials, in which the relic of Stone Beating Stick, the process of Tapa making, and the traces of bark worldwide have been introduced; Chapter 3, Study on Tapa Making; Chapter 4, Creation Ideas and Edification of Theoretical Basis; Chapter 5, Practice of Creation and Analyses of Works; Chapter 6, Conclusions, about the suggestions for and the prospect of bark creation; we expect the spirit of inheritance in the industry and the developmental directions of entering the international field. The research purposes are: 1. To collect and arrange the literatures on Tapa 2. To explore the culture of bark material and its room for development 3. To research the technique and experience of Tapa 4. To apply the bark culture to artistic creation The study has found that it needs certain methods and skills to beat and tap Tapa. We will cherish the hard-to-obtained resources more, if we feel tired time and again due to the repetitive movements when making it. In the process of visiting the creators, we learned their spirit of insistence and protection for their enthusiasm about art. The author had tried to apply the bark material to the artistic creation of environmental-protection appeal, to make Tapa diversified through the ways to explore mixed media. With the profound contents of culture conveyed through art, the hope of Tapa industry revitalization will be ignited again!
