Mobility management supports seamless handover. Mobility management is a key issue in the next generation wireless communication networks. Various enhanced wireless technologies in 3GPP organization. The 3GPP defines 3G long term evolution currently in progress. LTE is all-IP network architecture and provides high bit rate and lower latencies and wider coverage of services. In the evolved packet core (EPC) standards use of proxy mobile IPv6 based on the network-based mobility mechanism to provide mobility in the different base stations. However, the PMIPv6 suffers large handoff delay and packet lost in mobility for mobile users. This protocol is a relay node assisted approach. In this paper discuss on the LTE system security in detail at the time of handover, and extended design to relay node communications security. In relay node discovery extend the 3GPP specifications as defined in access network discovery and selection function (ANDSF) to help UE to obtain relay node information. With the aid of the relay nodes, the UE performs pre-handover procedure. In the pre-handover procedure includes prior to execute security operation and proxy binding update. Because of the UE pre-switch PMIPv6 tunnel to the RN of target domain before the UE attaches target eNB initials the layer 2 handover. By the way, proposed protocol can significantly reduce the handover latency and packet loss. The simulation results show that our protocol actually achieves the performance improvements in the handoff delay time, the packet loss rate. Yuh-Shyan Chen 陳裕賢 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 53 en_US
