This study adapts by David P. Norton and Robert S. Kaplan (1990) issued the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). Besides, wants construction KPIs that are suitable for the local cultural museums. The main purposes of this research are as follow: 1. To develop the content of management performance indicators for local cultural museums in Taiwan. 2. To explore the experts' opinions of management performance indicators for local cultural museums in Taiwan and analyze the importance. 3. To propose the concrete suggestion for cultivating the management performance indicators of local cultural museums in Taiwan. To achieve the above purpose, through literature, Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process, the research subjects are the government official, museum research's scholar, practice operator and administration personnel in local museum and community empowerment, and select 17 experts. Then the use '' Expert choice 2000'' carries on the material analysis. The conclusion of this research includes four dimensions, 12 subjects and 41 indicators, categorized into customer dimension (12 indicators), internal process dimension (13 indicators), staff growth dimension (10 indicators) and financial dimension (16 indicators), respectively. In order to cause the local cultural museum can be possible to maintain forever, in this suggested that local cultural museums should have the good interaction with the locality and develop the social resource positively. From this study, the author hopes to set up the management performance indicators, which may become a useful reference for other related local cultural museums.
