Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 台灣文化研究所 === 97 === In this dissertation, both the levels of story and discourse of Song Zelai’s social novels were analyzed systematically by using Narratology methods, and interpreted with the combination of Taiwan’s transition and Song Zelai’s life experience. Specifically, this dissertation has five chapters.
This dissertation first studied the narrator and the narrative perspective of Song Zelai’s social novels (chapter two and three), which have obvious characteristics. The role of narrator, such as peasantry of “Daniunan”, people in village and town, “I”, journalists, keep a close distance with the narrated story. Therefore, the narrative perspective related to narrator has the characteristics of "look into the depths of the soul".
In chapter four and five, this dissertation focused on the story of the social novels, and analyzed time and space, characters and masterplot, respectively. Time and space is the background of the novels, but also would display really the times and society of the social novels. The author found that time and space of the social novels was more or less the presentation of transition of Taiwan society in three decades. The characters of Song Zelai’s social novels was diverse, and it’s plot has a fixed pattern: the actor fought with the foul environment, but ended in failure, because of the defect of their own or the existence of the obstructor.
In chapter six, this dissertation integrated narrative discourse of Song Zelai’s social novels, and discussed narrative mode (language forms and discourse types).
In addition, this dissertation assumed the transition in the aspects of narrator, narrative perspective, time and space, plots, etc, and discussed the ideas that be set out by the transition.
