Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 課程與教學研究所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate, by means of action research, the process to practice the class project of graphic organize to the fourth graders in the elementary school, and to understand the learning effect and learning attitude of students. In practice, the action research was directed on a selected class in elementary school by observing their class activities, investigating related records such as students’ learning records, learning attitude evaluation records, interviewing students in the class and so on. The findings can contribute to five aspects of the pedagogy in social studies:
1.The graphic organizer teaching course established by this research that is applicable to the social studies of elementary school consists of three stages: “Initial Stage”, “Developmental Stage” and “Maturitial Stage”. ”Initial Stage” is mainly divided into two parts: Part 1 is the teacher guides mapping, while Part 2 is the teacher and students joint mapping. And the following is “Developmental Stage”, which is the agroup-cooperation structuring map . The final stage is “Maturitial Stage”. The students combine their relevant experiences and breakthrough the limitation of time and sentimental state of teaching, and then activate the application of the graphic organizer eventually.
2.The application of graphic organizer on Pedagogy of the Social Studies improves the learning effect of student in social studies.
3.The increase of the teaching time and the quantity of mapping results in the increase of the mapping ability of studens.
4.The reaction of the graphic organizer by students is mostly positive. And Graphic organizer teaching effectively enhances the interest and confidence of students in social studies.
