Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育政策與管理研究所 === 98 === The objective of the study is to explore the relationship between the organization atmosphere and school effectiveness in Taoyuan County elementary schools. It proposes solid recommendations based on the study results as the reference to enhance the organization atmosphere and school effectiveness. To achieve the above objective mentioned, the study adopts questionnaire survey method with the sample range of teachers from Taoyuan County elementary schools. The data obtained are processed by the computer statistical software pack for statistical data analysis. The followings conclusions are drawn based on the results of the data analyzed:
1. The current conditions of organization atmosphere in overall Taoyuan County elementary schools are fine.
2. The best performance is in “supportive caring” with “interaction closeness” in second and “emotional absence” in last for organization atmosphere of Taoyuan County elementary schools.
3. The current conditions of school effectiveness in overall Taoyuan County elementary schools are fine.
4. The highest score is in “teacher teaching” with “principal leadership” in second and “student learning” in last for school effectiveness of Taoyuan County elementary schools.
5. The perception of Taoyuan County elementary school teachers on the overall organization atmosphere is rather unrelated to individual background variables such as gender, seniority in teaching, and educational background.
6. The perception on overall organization atmosphere has the best performance for Taoyuan County elementary school teachers with a director title.
7. The perception of Taoyuan County elementary school teachers on the overall organization atmosphere is closely related to school background variables such as school size, school location and school history.
8. The perception of Taoyuan County elementary school teachers on the overall school effectiveness is closely related to different individual background variables such as gender, seniority in teaching, educational background and position held.
9. The perception of Taoyuan County elementary school teachers on the overall school effectiveness is closely related to different school background variables such as school size, school location, and school history.
10. Organization atmosphere and school effectiveness are highly positively related.
11. The better the overall organization atmosphere it is, the better performance it is in school effectiveness.
12. The overall aspects of organization atmosphere have an excellent prediction on school effectiveness. Among them, “supportive caring” can predict school effectiveness the best.
The study further proposes the following recommendations base on the conclusions:
1. Recommendations for the elementary school principals
(1) Establish the system of job rotation to increase the opportunity of administrative positions.
(2) Increase the multi-learning performance for students and encourage the parents from the community to participate in school affairs.
(3) Give female teachers more supports and caring to reduce the conflicts of role-plays.
(4) Establish a smooth communication channel and encourage teachers to participate in school affairs and fully express their opinions.
2. Recommendations for the educational administrative authorities
(1) Hold seminar activities to enhance the principal leadership and increase the principal behavior of “supportive caring”.
(2) Include “parent education” in educational planning to enhance student learning efficiency.
3. Recommendations for future relevant studies
(1) The study mainly focuses on questionnaire surveys of quantitative research. It should be supplemented with qualitative or action research to make the results and conclusions more rationality.
(2) Feelings are rather individualistic on organization atmosphere; therefore it is easily impacted by the emotion or background. A further and broader verification should be followed up.
