A set of questionnaires in the title of「School-based instructional supervision and teacher’s teaching effectiveness of elementary schools in Taipei County」was developed and conducted in the study. Educators of the elementary schools in the Taipei county area were randomly selected as the subjects. There were 800 questionnaires distributed and 711 questionnaires had been received, the rate of the received questionnaires reached to 88.88%.The valid sample was 703, several quantitative research methodologies were utilized in the study, including reliability analysis, validity analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regressions.
The conclusions of the study indicated:
1.Most educators of the elementary schools in Taipei County consider the overall practice of school-based instructional supervision of fine quality.
2.Most educators of elementary schools in Taipei County consider the overall teacher’s teaching effectiveness of fine quality.
3.The male educators of elementary schools in Taipei County perceived relatively more school-based instructional supervision practice than average.
4.Educators of elementary schools in Taipei County with teaching experience of 21 to 30 years perceived relatively more school-based instructional supervision practice than average.
5.The school principles or teachers serving as heads of school divisions perceived relatively more school-based instructional supervision practice than average.
6.Elementary school educators in Taipei County from different geographic areas consider better school-based instructional supervision in the outlying regions.
7.The differences in age, education experience and school scale of the educators could result in different perceptions toward school- based instructional supervision.
8.The gender difference of the Taipei County elementary school educators does not imply significant difference in terms of teacher’s teaching effectiveness.
9.The differences in job responsibility, age, education experience, working seniority, school location and school scale of the educators could result in different perceptions toward teacher’s teaching effectiveness.
10.In Taipei County, school-based instructional supervision and teacher’s teaching effectiveness in the elementary schools are structurally in positive correlation.
11.Among elementary schools in Taipei County, school-based instructional supervision has a significant predictability upon teacher’s teaching effectiveness.
12.For elementary schools in Taipei County, the professional development of school-based instruction supervision and teachers’ teaching effectiveness appear in significantly positive correlation.
13.Among elementary schools in Taipei County, the administrative planning of school-based instructional supervision and teacher’s teaching effectiveness appear in significantly positive correlation.
14.For elementary schools in Taipei County, the organizational learning of school-based instructional supervision and teacher’s teaching effectiveness are in significantly positive correlation.
15.With regards to elementary schools in Taipei County, the resource integration of school-based instructional supervision and teacher’s teaching effectiveness turn out in significantly positive correlation.
16.Teachers of Taipei County elementary schools of different background variables have relatively different needs to support teaching effectiveness when it comes to school-based instructional supervision.
Lastly, the author proposed several recommendations to government authorities in education administration, school authorities and teachers for future resear reference.
