碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 97 === Korfball was listed as one of our national sign key project in World Games in Kaohsiung in 2009. However, few people introduced literature of our korfball development history in Taiwan. To preserve the place’s historical data and arouse the people to value their own history, the author decided to discuss korfball development in Taiwan. This dissertation has adapted method as document analysis and interviews to investigate the truth of the development of korfball, and applied the idea of “Imagined Community.” This research has been divided into chapters: the history of korfball; its earlier development in Taiwan; its development in school physical education; and in Taiwan’s society. Between1979 and 2008, the study focuses on the result below: 1. The evolvement of the korfball can not be defined in a particular country, but it spans in Netherland, and become their nation’s identity. 2. To catch the world trend of gender equality, Mr. You-Jeng Chen, the Father of korfball in Taiwan, adapted korfball from Netherland and promoted it to several counties and cities in Taiwan, but only succeeded in Northern part. 3. Taiwan had stressed the development of the competitive sport, mostly emphasized on training. 4. Chinese Taipei Korfball Association has dominated the korfball development in Taiwan for nearly 30 years, and with the tendency to competitive sport. 5. The korfball players identifying themselves with the essence of korfball, therefore, get together.
