碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 社會科教育學系碩士班 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to test the gender differences of jealousy in the four different involvement level of intimate relationships (by 11 different scenes), by Taiwanese university student samples. The main findings are: (1) As the involvement level increases, the jealousy to partner increases. (2) Results show that men and women evoke more jealousy when partner have an intimate body contact with an interloper than have a chat. (3) In general, there is no gender difference of jealousy. However, it do exist some significant gender differences of jealousy in some scenes. (4) Confirming the previous study of evolutionary theory (Buss, 1994, Buss et al., 1999), men do have a stronger jealousy in sexual infidelity than women do in some forced-choice-measures questions. Apart from the evolutionary theory, some social and cultural theories will be included in the discussion.
