In this study the method of quasi-experimental design was used. The research subjects were divided into two groups (i.e., the experimental group and the control group). A total of 100 students who took the environmental safety and hygienic protection course were the subjects in the experimental group; whereas 78 students who took the introduction to science course were the subjects in the control group. There were four questions to solve on this study: 1. What motives are there for the university students to take the environmental safety and hygienic protection course? 2. What content should the curriculum of environmental safety and hygienic protection implemented at University of Education include? 3. What influence does the curriculum of environmental safety and hygienic protection have on students’ cognition and attitude toward safety and protection? 4. What opinions do the students have about the implementation of the curriculum of environmental safety and hygienic protection? To solve these questions, the researcher developed an ad hoc questionnaire first, and then arranged the experimental group and the control group to take the pretest and the posttest, respectively. The results obtained from this study are as follows: 1. The implementation of the curriculum of environmental safety and hygienic protection has positive influence on students’ attitude toward safety and protection. 2. The implementation of the curriculum of environmental safety and hygienic protection has positive influence on students’ cognition of safety and protection. 3. A better way to implement the curriculum of environmental safety and hygienic protection is to include more content related with everyday lives, more discussion, more visits and more practice. Finally, the researcher makes a few suggestions on the basis of the results as follows: 1. The amount of content related with everyday lives should be increased; 2. The amount of diversified content should be increased; 3. The school should regularly hold activities un connection with the curriculum of environmental safety and hygienic protection.
