Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 教育心理與輔導學系碩士在職專班 === 97 === The purpose of the study was to investigate the differences and relationship of parenting style, career self-concept and career decision between various backgrounds of senior high school students. The study also investigated the relationship among parenting style, career self-concept and career decision.
The study gathered information through questionnaire surveys. The instruments applied included Parenting Style Scale, Career Self-concept Scale and Career Decision Scale. The sample consisted of 662 students from nine senior high schools in Taipei Area. The obtained data were analyzed by one-way MANOVA, canonical correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The main findings were:
1.Parenting style perceived by senior high school students are significantly different depending on different grade.
2.Career self-concept perceived by senior high school students are significantly different depending on different background variables of gender, state of decision-making, socio-economic status.
3.Career decision perceived by senior high school students was significantly different depending on different background variables of gender, grade, state of decision-making status, and major subjects.
4.There was one significant canonical correlation between parenting style and career self-concept.
5.There was one significant canonical correlation between parenting style and career decision.
6.There were two significant canonical correlations between career self-concept and career decision.
7.Statistically, parenting style and career self-concept were significantly in predicting career decision. In addition, career interest was the most dominant in factor in predicting career decision.
Finally, based on the findings, suggestions for career guidance, parenting education and future research were provided.
