Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育經營與管理研究所碩士班 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to explore the elementary school parents’ dependency on cram schools in Tainan City, Tainan County and Kaohsiung City, and to serve as a reference for future researchers. The methodology adopted in this study includes a questionnaire and interviews. The data was collected from 442 parents sampled by tratified random method and 6 interviewees selected for the research purposes. There are four conclusions drawn from the findings of this study: First, the elementary school parents tend to be conformable and scanty of time or ability. Second, significant differences on the response of parents’ dependency were found to be related to parents’ financial status, parents’ education level, parents’ working condition, total household income, number of children, grade of the students, expenses of cram schools, and the location of the family. Third, significant differences on the response of attending cram schools were found to be related to parents’ financial status, parents’ education level, parents’ working condition, total household income, number of children, grade of the students, expenses of cram schools, and the location of the family. Finally, there was low correlation between parents’ dependency on cram schools and the situations of attending cram schools for elementary school students. Suggestions are put forth to be the future reference for educational administrators, parents and researches.
