The objects are senior-class boys in elementary schools who have regularly done judo and played tchoukball and volleyball for at least 2 years and who don’t play sports regularly. The boys are from 10 to 12 years old. A total of 60 boys are divided into groups of 15. The tests of single-foot stand with eyes closed and passing through a balance beam were conducted on each group. Data and descriptive statistics obtained are used to establish study subjects’ basic data. one-way ANOVA, independent samples are then used to compare the difference in balance of participants. Independent sample t test is then used to compare the difference between those that do regular exercise(regular exercise group) and those that do not (no regular exercise group). A statistical analysis is then conducted based on the data collected. The study results are as follows: 1. Test of single-foot stand with eyes closed: the tchoukball group is better than the judo group while the judo group is better than the volleyball group. However, there isn’t significant difference existing among the three groups. On the other hand, a significant difference is shown between the group without regularly playing sports and the groups of judo, tchoukball and volleyball. ( p <.05) 2. Test of passing through a balance beam: the volleyball group is better than judo group while the judo group is better than the tchoukball group. However, there isn’t significant difference existing among the three groups. On the other hand, a significant difference is shown between the group without regularly playing sports and the three groups of volleyball, judo and tchoukball. ( p <.05) Based on the above results, it is found that regularly being engaged in judo, tchoukball and volleyball for a long time shows significant benefits and effects on maintaining or improving static and dynamic balance abilities. chieh-yuen Chang 張介元 學位論文 ; thesis 76 zh-TW
