Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 97 === The aim of this thesis attempts to explore threefold. The first one is to investigate different genders of swimmers’ relevance to their goal orientation, perceived motivational climate and sources of sport-confidence. The second one is to compare the difference between swimmers’ sources of sport-confidence, goal orientation and perceived motivational climate. The third one is to explore swimmers’ perceived motivational climate and sources of sport-confidence for the prediction of goal orientation. The participants in this study were contestants of swimmers in 2007 Taiwan Senior High School Athletic Sports game. There were 70 male adults and the mean age was 16.51 (± 0.94) . In addition there were 46 female adults and the mean age was 16.16 (± 0.83). The analysis of data was carried out by canonical correlation analysis, independent-samples T test, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows.
First of all, through canonical correlation analysis, the group motivation climate that shaped by the coach would affect the goal orientation of contestants. For instance, if the coach hopes the contestants have the goal orientation toward work, the coach should shape the group motivation climate as work climate. On the contrary, if the coach hopes the contestants have the goal orientation toward selfhood, the coach should shape the group motivation climate as selfhood climate.
Second, through independent-samples T test, there is no significant difference between swimmers’ sources of sport-confidence, goal orientation and perceived motivational climate.
Third, the contestants of different goal orientation would have difference on the sources of confidence from skill/effort perception, physical preparation, and physical self-presentation. For this reason, if the coach emphasizes on the source of confidence from skill/effort perception, the coach has to make contestants have high work and high self orientation or high work and low self orientation. If emphasizing on the source of confidence from physical preparation, the coach has to make contestants have high work and high self orientation. If emphasizing on the physical self-presentation, it would be a need to make contestants have high self and low work orientation.
Fourth, through stepwise multiple regression analysis, there are two orientations could increase selfhood of goal orientation. One is to use higher leading of coach and past experience of source of confidence. The other one is to use less experience of replacement and higher perceived motivational climate. Besides, there are two orientations to increase goal orientation toward work. First is to use higher perceived motivational climate and higher skill/effort perception. The other one is to use coach leading and low physical self presentation.
