Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育學系課程與教學碩士班 === 97 === The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between 5th and 6th graders’ perceptions of school moral atmosphere and character performance in Kaohsiung area. This study adopted the instrument called “Questionnaire on the Life Experience and Behavior of the Elementary School Students” to collect data. The subjects were 1231 5th and 6th graders in Kaohsiung area. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, independent sampling t test and Pearson''s correlation. Based upon the results of the above analyses, the researcher provided several conclusions as follows: 1.The 5th and 6th graders’ perceptions of school moral atmosphere in Kaohsiung area were generally good, but there was still room for improvement on the students’ feeling towards respect. 2.The 5th and 6th graders’ character performance in Kaohsiung area was generally good, but the respect needed to be improved. 3.There were significant differences among gender and grade in the perceptions of school moral atmosphere. 4.There were significant differences among gender, grade, and size and location of schools in the students’ character performance. 5.There was a highly significant and positive correlation between the perceptions of school moral atmosphere and students’ character performance.
