Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育學系課程與教學(澎湖)碩士班 === 97 === The purposes of this research were: (1) to uncover the present condition of family learning environment and reading competence of the immigrant children of fifth and sixth grade in Penghu County; (2) to analyze the diversities of reading competence of those immigrant children resulting from different background variables; (3) to analyze the diversities of family learning environments of those children caused by different background variables; (4) to figure out the correlation between reading competence and family learning environment of those children; and (5) to offer feasible suggestions according to the conclusions of this research. This research adopted questionnaire method to explore the correlation between family learning environment and reading competence of the immigrant children of fifth and sixth grade in Penghu County. Questionnaires were given to 166 students, and 151 of which were valid. The major conclusions were summarized as follow: 1.Roughly, the immigrant children of fifth and sixth grade in Penghu County had ordinary family learning environment. 2.According to examination, the immigrant children had difficulty in reading comprehension but none in word recognition. Nevertheless, the overall reading competence of those children varied on a large scale. 3.The difference in the immigrant children’s gender caused no obvious difference in home learning environment. The immigrant children with different social-economic ranks showed visible diversities in family learning environment. 4.The difference in the immigrant children’s gender showed no evident differences in reading competence. The varieties of the immigrant children’s social-economic ranks showed apparent diversities in reading competence. 5.The immigrant children’s family learning environment was related proportionately to reading competence. According to the chief part of the discoveries and conclusions in this research, suggestions concerning aspects of the authorities, schools and parents were put forward, and follow-up studies were also proposed.
