The class tutor is the core role that has deep influence on the students in class. The kind of tutor will make the kind of students. Class tutors with different kind of leadership will produce different class management efficacy. So, it enormously affects the class management efficacy for a class tutor to practice his/her leadership behavior properly. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between transformational and transactional leadership behavior and class management efficacy of class tutors in elementary schools. The main goals of this study were to realize the present situation of class tutor’s leadership behavior and class management efficacy in elementary schools; to analyze the difference in leadership behavior and class management efficacy of class tutors with different background in elementary schools; to survey how the background variation and leadership behavior of class tutors in elementary schools affected the class management efficacy. This study employed questionnaire survey method. The survey targets were those senior-grade students and class tutors in Kaohsiung county elementary schools. There were total 638 effective collected samples. Additionally, this study adopted statistics analysis approaches, such as descriptive statistics ,Independent Sample t-Test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson''s product-moment correlation, and Multiple Regression Analysis to check each hypothesis. It’s been found from this study that at present class tutors often use transformational and transactional leadership behavior in elementary schools and they can achieve excellent class management efficacy. There is an obvious difference in leadership behavior and class management efficacy of class tutors with different background in elementary schools. The background variation and leadership behavior of class tutors in elementary schools provide an excellent explanation to the class management efficacy.
